The 44th edition of the legendary 20km of Brussels will take place on Sunday 26 May 2024, starting at 10.00 in the traditional 6 start boxes. Your estimated time will determine your start box. The Brussels 20 km is also open to walkers. The maximum time of the race has been increased to 5 hours.
The Running for Europe (RfE) Interinstitutional Organising Committee invites all colleagues from the EU institutions, their family members and retired officials to run or walk in our Running for Europe team.
This year the Running for Europe team will run to encourage every citizen to vote at the European Elections on 9th of June while promoting the ‘Use your Vote’ campaign. To keep Europe strong, we must safeguard our democracy. And we, the citizens of the European Union, do so by voting. Because the more people vote, the stronger democracy becomes. And the more people vote, the more legitimate the decisions being made become.
Joining the Running for Europe team also means running for a good cause. The team will raise funds for two Belgian non-governmental organizations that aim at protecting nature around us. You can choose to donate to Natagora (for projects in Wallonia and Brussels) or to Natuurpunt (for projects in Flanders and Brussels). The aim of Natagora and Natuurpunt, is to protect the remaining nature in Belgium through buying and managing land, protecting species, running awareness programs for a general and specific public and lobbying local and regional governments.

Further information will follow as we get closer to the date of the race. If you decide to register after 26th of April, you will need to collect your race number yourself at the Sibp office. You will still be entitled to a running vest.
You may encourage colleagues, family, friends, and neighbours to join the team. If they do not participate in the race, they are welcome to come and support the RfE team at the fan zone of the EU institutions, located in Bois de la Cambre nearby the kiosk.
